Eine Gruppe von Aktivisten hat am Freitag den Präsidentenpalast im Bezirk Heliopolis attackiert. Es wurden Molotows und Steine auf den Eingangsbereich und die dort stationierten Bullen geworfen. Die Bullen setzen daraufhin Tränengas gegen die teilweise maskierten Angreifer ein, während ein Fahrzeug der „Sicherheitskräfte“ in Brand gesetzt wurde.
Bei den Kämpfen wurden nach Angaben staatlicher Medien zwanzig Menschen verletzt, die Bullen setzten später 15 Menschen fest, die sie beschuldigen, zum black bloc egypt zu gehören und an den Aktionen beteiligt gewesen zu sein.
Wie eine Anwältin, die drei der Festgenommenen vertritt, heute erklärte, befindet sich unter den Festgenommenen auch eine 54jährige Frau, die ein bekanntes Mitglied der „Front für einen freidlichen Wandel“ sei. Mehrere der Festgenommenen seien als Mitglieder der Ultras von Al Ahly bekannt. Alle 15 sollen im Laufe des Tages vorgeführt werden, um zu entscheiden, ob sie inhaftiert würden.
Aktivisten des black bloc egypt versammelten sich daraufhin heute in der geschichtsträchtigen Mohamed Mahmoud Strasse in der Nähe des Innenministeriums, in der es in den letzten zwei Jahren zu zahlreichen Demos und Kämpfen mit den Bullen gekommen war, um die Freilassung der Festgenommenen zu fordern.

Molotows and stones on presidential palace in Kairo – repression against Ultras and black bloc
On Friday a group of activists attacked the presidential palace in the district Heliopolis. Molotows and stones were thrown on the entrace area and the cops stationed there. As a result the cops used tear gas against the partially masked offenders, during a car of the “security forces“ was set on fire.
According to state media, 20 people were injured during the clashes and later the cops detained 15 people, who they accuse to be part of the black bloc egypt and being involved in the actions.
A lawyer, who advocates three arrested persons declares today, that there is a 54 year old woman among the arrested persons, who is a famous member of the “Front for a peaceful change“. Various of the arrested people are known as members of the Ultras from Al Ahly. All the 15 are supposed to be presented, to decide if they should be imprisoned.
Consequently activists of the black bloc egypt gathered today in the history-charged Mohamed Mahmoud Street nearby the ministry of internal affairs, in which one it had come to several demonstrations and clashes with the cops, to demand release of the arrested people.
